Our Story

Products

Bespoke furniture, gifts and home goods, with sturdy and timeless designs.

We design modern innovations, and build them with classical techniques and solid genuine materials. Using inspiration from American, Japanese, Nordic Carpentry to create long lasting and beautiful hardwood products and gifts beautifully realize them in exotic and domestic hardwoods.

Everything sold by Sterling Woodcrafts is hand crafted in a single workshop in the USA.

Process

It starts from beautiful rough-cut beams of genuine hardwood and ends with hand-fashioned luxury furniture, housewares and gifts. Sterling Woodcrafts products are made the finest possible materials, and finished with a premium wax and oil furniture blend we mix in-house. Our finish soaks into the wood and permanently hardens leaving an elegant and durable sheen unique to our products.

You will not find any veneers, stains or dyes only beautiful hardwoods. This makes for

Products that last longer, are less prone to chipping, wearing or fading and can be repaired.

Purpose

Products with a heart and soul are hard to find. In an effort to make more products (*cough* money *cough*), most manufacturers have focused on cost of materials and ease and speed of production rather than longevity and performance. Handmade things may seem like a thing of the past – but they stick around and become our most treasured artifacts.

The purpose of Sterling Woodcrafts is to help refill the word with handmade high quality goods that are long-lasting, and meant to age beautifully. We make investments that will serve their purpose for years to come. These goods are not “Trendy” but genuine and designed with durability and aesthetics in mind because

Authenticity will always be in style, and disposable cardboard furniture is out.

People

Who makes the products I design? I do, of course! Every product sold, I personally make from start to finish.

One day I hope to have a hand or two in my shop to assist and to pass on the craft, and maybe a web designer too! But if you are reading this I am the one making everything still – probably as you read this – in my shop in beautiful Sterling, Massachusetts. (Do you see what I did there? Sterling Woodcrafts)

If you want to see pictures of my process or check in on what I am currently up to, and get a sneak peek at new product designs, innovations or wood sculpture art I am working on – please click the button below and give me a follow! Or if you would like to discuss a custom piece of handmade furniture or an alteration of a product I currently make, feel free to send me an email.

Cheers!
